Hi Mighty!

I just came across this video and wanted to share it with you. I love how happy you look to wake up and see another day. I hope you never lose that happiness.

Not a lot of people like waking up early for school or for work… do you like to wake up early? Sometimes you like to sleep in, but a lot of times, I would be sleeping and I’d wake up and see your smiling face. You’d say, “hi!”

Even if I was late to work, I made sure to give you a kiss. Sometimes, if you were awake (it was very early), I loved to pick you up and give you a hug, like in the video above. You were still resting and your body so cozy. You just laid down and melted into my arms. It was the best.

It made waking up a lot better! But it made going to work for a long day (every day!) a lot harder. I missed you a lot, every single day. I thought about you and would save you candy or chocolates, if I bought any. I liked to buy you sour gummy candy, do you remember? They were shaped like octopuses!

Sometimes, a nice lady that works with me (named Carmen) would bring you extra cupcakes or cakes if she made them. She was very nice, even though she has never met you. She always brought extra so that I can take them home for you. She bought you gifts when you were born and then sometimes, just because.

Here is a picture with you wearing one of the dresses that Miss Carmen bought you. We were spending a nice morning in the front of our house, drinking coffee, smelling flowers, and looking at ants. You’d see them and say, “Ew! Ants!”

You’re probably getting ready to go to sleep. I don’t know if I’ll be able to say good night to you over the phone… but know that I always say “good night, Maya. I love you” out loud when you are not with me. And when I’m with you, maybe you don’t see, but I always give you at least one kiss before you fall asleep. You’d tell me he was chasing you, but I think you were playing with him. He better always be nice to you, in your dreams!
