let’s go play some games!

Hi, Mighty My’!

Yesterday I saw you for the first time in a long time. You have grown so much. You are learning so many things and so fast (I think you might be the smartest little girl there ever was!)

I am so impressed with you. You are smart, polite, playful, funny. You love to joke, laugh, play, draw… And you will try anything. You are not scared of anything! You are much more brave than me.

When I saw you, I couldn’t wait to give you a hug and a kiss. I wanted you to tell me everything! I picked you up and you gave me such a big, warm hug and just said “Daddyyyyy”, so I hugged you back and I said “Mayaaaaa”.

I love you so much.

You were very excited to go to Chuck E. Cheese. I haven’t been for many, many years. Since I was a little older than you. I remembered it much differently, but it was really nice. There was a lot of games, music, colors, balloons, fun food and snacks… We even saw Chuck E. Cheese (the mouse) himself.

It was a lot to take in, so we sat and talked for a little bit. I gave you a Minnie Mouse and showed you my Mickey Mouse. I take him everywhere I go. He likes to be with my work bag. Do you know where your Minnie Mouse is? Don’t worry, if you don’t, she’s probably having a fun adventure.

Here is Mickey Mouse on my work bag. Do you recognize the red bag with the polka dots? I brought you some crayons, stickers, and chocolates in it. I hope you like the bag and use all of the crayons and markers! The stickers I found and saved for you. I wrote the date on them when I found them. I know there isn’t a lot… but I will save them for you whenever I find them.

I showed you two pages of my secret project. It is a coloring book made just for you! So far I have twenty five pages done (its only about half the book). I printed you two pages so that you can see them and if you want, color them too. I hope you like them a lot!

You were coloring very nicely. And you knew all of your color names. And when I asked you, “what color should I draw… a snake?” You said “orange!” And when then you asked me to draw a spider that was purple! We also draw a brown monkey. Then you showed me how to draw circles. I was seriously impressed! You are already an amazing artist. And you can open your own markers and you clean them up nicely if they get spilled out of your pencil box. You even knew how to use your Chuck E. Cheese card to buy yourself a game! And you gave it for me to hold safely for you after. I am just very impressed with you and how amazing you are.

Here you are playing air hockey. You didn’t even need anyone to show you how to play! You were a natural. But of course, you know me, I always want to teach you something (even if you already know it…)

There was a game that you liked a lot called Crab Rush. At first, you were a little scared of the crabs… but you quickly learned they are friendly and don’t want to hurt you. They just moved fast and you didn’t know what to expect. Do you remember the crabs? You talked about it the next day, too (and I said I will take you to play it again).

You played a lot of games and it was a lot of fun! But the most you laughed was probably the trampolines. You made friends with a girl named Ellie and you both played. You laughed so hard and jumped so much! Even when you fell, you did not cry (even though you rubbed your face a little when you got up, so I know it hurt a little bit).

Look at you go!

Another game you like (and I forgot what it was called) was one where colorful balls fall out from the ceiling and you have to pick them up and put them in a basket for points! It was your favorite! You must have played it 10 times. You kept saying, “again!” I had to take you out a few times even though you didn’t want to leave. But I made sure we came back a few more times before we left. Look at your big pretty smile. You look so excited and happy.

You had a lot of favorite games to play. You really liked this big blue bus! You liked being the driver but also sitting in the back watching TV. You’ve always loved driving. Beep, beep! We had so much fun playing on this one. And it has my two favorite photos of you on there. Can you guess which ones? (Its the ones where you look super happy!)

Though we played on almost every game there, you also took this picture with me… even though it wasn’t as exciting as the other games!

I will try to keep this photo forever, but just in case I lose it… I took a photo of it, too. I printed off a copy for my desk at work so I can look at it and smile.

Even GG liked the picture. And maybe she sensed I was with you, because she cuddled with me so much through out the night. I know she misses you. She loves you just like Louie and she would always check on you when you were very little and crying. She made sure somebody was helping you right away.

I will remember this day forever. I hope you will always remember to play in life Sometimes we have very hard days… when we’re lonely, or sad, or bored… But I know when I am, I think about you and your little smile and I am always instantly happier. Especially when you’re with me.

I love you and I am with you in any way that I can be. That will be forever. Remember that!
