I wanted to show you my ukulele, which maybe you remember or you sometimes still play with.

Wujek Michał (my uncle, who is Babcia’s brother) got this for me a long time ago when we visited in Poland. I have had this ukulele for about 15 years.

Wujek Michał really loves to play guitar and is a very good musician. I would love to show you how well he plays sometime! I never learned to play guitar in the style that he did, because it is very difficult, but it is also beautiful. He had a song for his daughter, which I thought was very beautiful.

It was always very important for me to show you “what music is” I tried playing instruments in front of you often. I have a lot of videos and photos of you listening, watching, or playing yourself (which I loved to see!).

I have wondered for a very long time about if you will like music. I’m sure you will like it, like most people do. What are your favorite songs? You had songs that you liked to sing as soon as you could say a few words.

You loved listening to “The Wheels On The Bus” while you were eating. You loved singing “Open Shut”… And so many others.

Actually, you used to sing and put on a show for everyone! You are such a natural entertainer and great singer! You always made me very proud. I was very shy and nervous when I was little and I’m so happy that you are brave and strong.

Here is a recording from May 25th, 2023, which means you were about two to three months old when I made it up. This was something I would play over and over again, very quietly, to help you fall asleep. It worked once or twice… but you liked watching and learning about what I was doing, which was nice, too!

Other times I would play it for you in the morning when you woke up. I like to listen to music when I wake up. How about you?

I called this song, “Good morning Maya, my love”. Do you like it? I once put it inside of a teddy bear that, if you squeezed his hand, it would play this song. Do you remember? If you like when I make songs for you, tell me so that I can make more!

I will try to think of songs you already liked that I listened to. Maybe I will write about it next time!

Music is special and makes a lot of people feel things deeply. It makes us thing, and pass the time, and share with others. It is a beautiful gift from the universe for everyone… Its special to listen, make, learn, or talk about it! I love to talk about music. And I will teach you everything I know.

I hope you always have the best songs stuck in your head. Unless you want peace and quiet. That is important, too!
